Auto, Manual, Re-Time buttons These are used to change the status of an individual Item, as described earlier in this section. Totals Box, %, Balance, Re-Total buttons These are used to assist in the editing of items set as Manual, as described earlier in this section. Start Date and Duration entry boxes Available in Re-Time mode and used for editing items set as Re-Timed, as described earlier in this section. Graph button This is an additional profiling capability available for Re-Timed items allowing costs and sales to be entered graphically, described in the section ‘Cashflow Graph’. Lock, Unlock button Locks a Re-Timed or Manual cashflow profile. You can still edit it from within the Cashflow-Edit however it prevents alteration to the total value in the Data List. This can be useful to prevent you from inadvertently updating values in the Data List. The button shows as "Lock" when the item is currently unlocked, and "Unlock" when the item is currently locked. Note: Locking will affect both Residual and Sensitivity analysis: if a value is locked then Prodev cannot change its values. This is logical, but not always obvious when you want it to work. Investment Values cannot be locked as they are affected by external factors (i.e. rents). The ‘Lock’ button is not available when an Investment Value is selected. Fwd-1, Bak-1 buttons Moves the entire cashflow forward by one period, from the currently highlighted period. To move the information back use the ‘Bak-1’ button. Both of these buttons function slightly differently depending on whether they are used in Re-Timed or Manual mode. When Re-Timed the whole line will move back and forth regardless of the month that is currently highlighted. In Manual mode only those months on or after (later than) the month that is currently highlighted will be moved and all figures to the left of that position will remain static. Note that once a cell with a value in it reaches the first or last period of the cashflow then Prodev will not allow you to move the cashflow further forward or back. Put button Puts the cashflow profile into memory so you can apply it to other items. This allows you to store the profile for a particular item and then apply the same profile to another cost or sale item using the ‘Get’ button. The information in the cashflow line is copied as proportions, not values. For example you may have set up a profile for a building cost that you wish to re-use for another building cost. In this case highlight the line to be copied then click the ‘Put’ button then highlight the item to be copied to and click the ‘Get’ button (described below). Get button Gets the existing cashflow profile copied into memory using the ‘Put’ command. This will re-profile the currently highlighted cashflow total using the profile copied from another item. The information in the cashflow line is copied as proportions, not values. For example you may have set up a profile for a building cost that you wish to re-use for another building cost. In this case highlight the line to be copied then click the ‘Put’ button (described above) then highlight the item to be copied to and click the ‘Get’ button. ‘Get’ only works for Re-Timed or Manual items. If the ‘Get’ command is inactive (i.e. dimmed out) then this is either because no information has been stored using the ‘Put’ button or that the information cannot be used. For example if a Manual item has been ‘Put’ then the information stored is too detailed to ‘Get’ for a Re-Timed item. Generally speaking ‘Put’ and ‘Get’ should only be used on items with the same cashflow setting. Reset button This restores any changes made during the current editing session. Note: This resets the entire cashflow. If you want to reset an individual line to its default setting then change it Automatic. Prodev will warn you that you are about to lose any changes. Update button The update process takes place automatically when you close Cashflow-Edit so you only need to use it if you want to refresh the entire cashflow. This updates the values in the Data List, based on any changes made within Cashflow-Edit. Once the update has completed Prodev recalculates the entire project and passes the amended values and timings back to Cashflow-Edit. Time/Fin button Takes you directly to the Time/Finance section if you need to amend the overall timescales. Any changes made within Cashflow-Edit will be applied. Close button Exits the Cashflow-Edit screen and returns to the Data List implementing any changes made.
