This menu contains additional options for File Opening and Saving. Title and Notes Here you can enter the appraisal title and notes for your project. This information will be incorporated in the appraisal and cashflow report. In operation it is identical to the similar function found on the Print/Preview screen described in the section ‘Viewing, Printing and Exporting Reports’. Apply File Password You can apply password protection to your Prodev file, this consists of up to four letters or numbers. A dialog box will display allowing you to enter the password (this will always appear in upper case). If no password is present (the default setting) then no password will be applied. When you next save your file any password provided will be incorporated. When opening a password protected file a prompt will appear beforehand requesting this information. Note: Do not forget your password as there is no way of opening your file without it. Not even we can decrypt a file that has been password protected. Set Default File Location When Prodev is first installed on a new computer it will create a folder called PDWIN32FILES within the ‘My Documents’ folder. This is the default folder that Prodev will use to store your appraisal projects. In older versions of Prodev this folder was located on the C: drive so if this version of Prodev has been installed as an upgrade then that will be treated as the default location instead. If you wish to store your projects elsewhere (e.g. a network drive) then you can use this facility to tell Prodev where your projects will be stored by default which will save you having to change folder every time you launch Prodev. A Browse for Folder dialog box will display, select the desired location then click OK. Prodev will confirm your choice prior to setting the new Default File Location. Reset Default File Location Restores the Default File Location to its original setting. This menu item is inactive if this has already been done.
