The Prodev file structure

The files created by Prodev can only be used by Prodev and not by other applications (unlike the Excel export facility).  Prodev incorporates a file compression technology that reduces the average size of a Prodev file to around 6KB in size.  Owing to their small size, Prodev files are ideally suited for e-mailing, allowing you to send your projects to other Prodev users.  If you wish to send your Prodev appraisals via e-mail to people who do not have Prodev then use the Excel export facility that allows you to create the report as an Excel file, being a very widely-used file format.
