Working with older version Prodev files

Version 4003-4006

These files will display and load as previously described but if an older version file of this type is subsequently saved, it will no longer be readable by these previous versions.  If you overwrite a Prodev file in this way a warning message will display allowing you to cancel the operation if required.  The reason for this is that Prodev 4020 Series files contain additional features that cannot be utilised by earlier versions of the software.

Version 3006

This was the Windows 3 version of Prodev and information from its files can be imported into Prodev 4020 Series.  To do this use the File Open dialog as previously described but first use the ‘Files of Type’ dropdown (usually located below the filename entry) and select ‘Version 3 Files’ to display files of this type.  There are two options; Version 3 Files or Version 3 Templates and in most cases it will be the Version 3 Files option that you require.  Your older version files may be in alternative folders; if so use the ‘Look in’ facility to locate them.
